On September 22, 2006 Mufi Hannemann, Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu signed a proclamation for September 2006 to be the GREATER GOOD MONTH. This milestone marks yet another validation of the mission of Greater Good Inc and Greater Good Radio and TV.
The Proclamation
WHEREAS, Greater Good Inc. was created by Evan Leong and wife, Kari, successful entrepreneurs who broadcast interviews with business and community leaders to promote socially conscious business practices; and
WHEREAS, the Leongs launched Greater Good Radio in September 2005 and have since hosted 114 prominent guests on their show, encouraging private enterprise and public entities to partner their efforts for mutual benefit and the betterment of our community; and
WHEREAS, the message of Greater Good Inc. is reaching a growing audience through the Internet, email, cellular phones, faxes and overnight mailing, and Greater Good TV will begin weekend broadcasts on KGMB 9 in January 2007; and
WHEREAS, friends and supporters will celebrate Greater Good Month in September with educational activities, promotions and initiatives designed to offer business people and the general public a better understanding of social entrepreneurship and how it can be applied to everyday commerce,
NOW, THEREFORE, I, MUFI HANNEMANN, Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu, do
hereby proclaim September 2006, to be
GREATER GOOD MONTH
to recognize this compelling concept and its dedicated advocates, who offer an enlightened way for businesses to find success while also helping our community to prosper.
